Living a Life of PRAISE

FREEDOM

IT IS FOR FREEDOM THAT CHRIST HAS SET US FREE. STAND FIRM, THEN, AND DO NOT LET YOURSELVES BE BURDENED AGAIN BY A YOKE OF SLAVERY.
Galatians 5:1

Are you aware you can be free? I mean completely free from anything that is entangling you. Anything that keeps you up at night. Anything others tell you will never go away, just learn to deal with it. Anything that hinders your relationship with others and especially God. Anything that has been there from childhood. All of these “things” can be conquered by the power of the Holy Spirit. There are so many defeated Christians now a days and its obvious to me simply by their countenance. People are in search for “more” but they don’t know what “more” is. They are wanting to be freed but don’t know how. There are chains around them that are sucking the very life out of them. There is no peace, no freedom, no victory. But there is a lot of going through the motions, speaking church language, and doing the same thing expecting a different result. Its sad to me when Christians blend in with society in our negativity and complaints. Where is the HOPE?

Romans 8:11 says, “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as He raised Christ from the dead, He will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you.” Whoa! Do we understand what that is saying? The same power that raised Christ from the dead exists in us! That should change everything for those who call themselves believers. We have power to overcome but its only through the Holy Spirit. So what are we doing? Are our lives radiating this power or are we living defeated? Do people see us as victorious or mundane? The friends I have who inspire me and I want to be around and just soak in their presence, are the ones who fight for their salvation. They fight to be free and stay free because at any moment the devil can attack and they are guarded and ready for battle. This is why the above passage is crucial to someone who wants to live in the freedom of Christ. He has freed us but we must STAND FIRM. Here are some other scriptures on this Word:

MOSES ANSWERED TO THE PEOPLE, “DO NOT BE AFRAID. STAND FIRM AND YOU WILL SEE THE DELIVERANCE THE LORD WILL BRING YOU TODAY. THE EGYPTIANS YOU SEE TODAY YOU WILL NEVER SEE AGAIN. THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU; YOU NEED ONLY TO BE STILL.
Exodus 14:13, 14

BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, IF YOU HOLD FIRMLY TO THE WORD I PREACHED TO YOU. OTHERWISE, YOU HAVE BELIEVED IN VAIN.
1 Corinthians 15:2

STAND FIRM THEN, WITH THE BELT OF TRUTH BUCKLED AROUND YOUR WAIST, WITH THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN PLACE, AND WITH YOUR FEET FITTED WITH THE READINESS THAT COMES FROM THE GOSPEL OF PEACE.
Ephesians 6:14

And what happens when we do not stand firm:

…BUT EACH ONE IS TEMPTED WHEN, BY HIS OWN EVIL DESIRE, HE IS DRAGGED AWAY AND ENTICED.
James 1:14

I don’t know about you but I have experienced being “dragged away” many times and there is no fruit or freedom that comes from that place. It is miserable, lonely, depressing, and frustrating. When you wake up with all intentions to not do what you keep doing and before you’re even out of the house, you’ve been “dragged away”. This is not God’s will for our lives. Not for that day and not even for a moment. He wants us to be free and you know a “freed” person when you come in contact with them. So it is possible to have a life filled with joy and peace regardless of what comes our way.

Prayer for Today:
Jesus we thank you for your death and resurrection that has allowed us to be free. May “chains be broken and lives be healed”. When we allow You to do this we will never be the same. May we first still our hearts and mind and allow You to search us. May we repent and then be given courage to take the next step. Place people in our lives who will speak truths to keep us walking in freedom. When we become enslaved, may we be quick to trade our yoke for Yours that is always light. Uproot sins that have been there all our life. And most importantly may You bring others to us we can share our victories with. You are faithful and good and full of love. Take us to new heights as well as new depths. Consume and invade and flood us so You are all we see and all we want and all we live for. May we remember to STAND FIRM today!
